Marsilea Hirsuta VS Hydrocotyle Tripartita For Low Tech Tank

I try plantting Hydrocotyle Tripartita and Marsile Hirsuta in my non CO2 sand substrate low tech tank a while ago. After one month, I came to conclusion that Marsilea Hirsuta did a lot better in my case. Also note that the water temperature in my aquarium is pretty high as I live in tropical region.

Longkang Fish Wild Guppy

Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) are not native to Malaysia, but was introduce here long time ago as a means of mosquito control . Until this day, wild guppies can be still found thriving in the drain locally here. Hence the name "longkang fish" which literally mean "drain fish". As a kid, I used to take my fishing net and go "scoop" out some of these fish at my grandparents' place near Johor.

Best non CO2 aquatic carpet plant Sagittaria Subulata Echinodorus Tenellus

I found that Sagittaria Subulata, Echinodorus Tenellus, Helanthium tenellum is the best carpet plant for a low tech tank without CO2 and soil. With just sand and LED lighting setup, this plant will just keep on growing. Other easy plants like Annubia, Java Fern, Java Moss, Singapore Moss all will melt in my tank after a few months probably due to the warm temperature.
